EVALUATION
For this project, we had to come up with an idea that would then be displayed in the Sport Relief Telethon. This idea could be a game show or a music video and it had to be either a pre- recorded item or a live item.
We had to come up with ideas individually so I watched a few Sport Relief videos on YouTube so that I could have a clear idea on what I wanted to produce. I decided that I was going to do a pre- recorded music video. In my music video, my original idea was to use the popular song 'Happy by Pharrel Williams' and I was going to create some lyrics near the end part of the song so that I could rap to it. I was also going to get a few people, inside the College, to take part in the music video by dancing to the song. I chose to use this song as it is catchy and it would make people want to clap and dance along to.
However, I changed my idea as I came up with another song called 'No Regrets by Dappy' which I thought was more suitable for the event.
I done a few audience researches on that age group so that I could find out how my music video would be interesting for that particular age group. I then decided that the target audience was going to be students from City Of Westminster College ages 16-19 years old. This is because they are full time students who are more likely to hear and know about this song. The music video will maintain the audiences attention as the song 'No Regrets' is a popular song which has catchy lyrics that will enable the audience to interact by singing along to it.
Once I had my idea ready, I then showed my idea to the clients and I told them about the target audience, the location that I was going to film the music video, the people that I was going to need in the video and the equipment needed. The clients gave me positive feedback and they also gave me some tips on how I could make my music video turn out better.
After that, I got into a pair with one of my peers and we decided on what our final idea was going to be. Our final idea was to create a music video which was about Sport Relief. The music video had a positive message to it, letting people know about how you could participate with Sport Relief.
We was going to use the song 'Happy by Pharell Williams' but we discovered another song that would be more suitable for the event. So we changed our idea and used the song 'No Regrets by Dappy.' Me and my peer came up with a few lyrics for the verse of the song that we felt was suitable for the event as we discussed what Sport Relief was all about, then added in the music video and it featured myself rapping then we added a few Sport Relief images in the video.
We then came up with a location and we decided to film the video at City Of Westminster College on the 6th floor balcony and on one of the staircases in the College. The video lasted around 2 minutes.
There was a tight deadline on when our music video needed to be completed by, so we made sure that the music video was edited and finished on time. I imported the music video onto YouTube and we went to view it at the rehearsals and as we watched it again, I realised that the video keep cutting out certain parts of it. So I went to edit it again, making sure that there were no more problems with it.
Once people had finally watched our music video, we had positive feedback from our peers and they said that they enjoyed it and that it was different.
Overall, I think that our music video turned out to be successful and I really enjoyed participating in the Sport Relief Telethon.
