CWC Staff Awards 2013- PROPOSAL

Chantel's City Of Westminster College Staff Awards 2013 Proposal

Proposal:
City Of Westminster College Hosts a Staff Awards Event where staff members across the College receive
awards in Excellence In Teaching, Long Service, Retiring and for many other categories.
This event takes last for an hour and a half and takes place at The Paddington Green Campus around the end of the College Autumn Term.

Audience:
The audience profile for the Staff Awards will be staff members and other adults ages 25-65. The majority of the staff members are from The Paddington Green Campus, but other staff members from Queens Park and family members will be there. Altogether, there will be 300 people attending The Staff Awards.

Videos:
The Title sequence should show the best parts of the College such as staff members working in classrooms, in their offices and staff working around the College building. There should be a clip to show the College from the outside, and then the camera can travel throughout the College building. There should also be a familiar music soundtrack playing over the different clips. Having a familiar soundtrack will enable the viewers to engage with the song.

When filming the staff members during their interviews, I think they should be filmed in the rooms that they work in such as; filming a performing arts drama teacher in one of the theatre’s or filming the teachers that work in the engineering rooms. This will make the video clips look more interesting and I think it’s better than filming the staff in one place.
The interviews need to be filmed in a higher quality so that it comes out clear on the big screen. The interviews shouldn’t seem so serious and there should be a few memorable jokes that they interviews could tell the audience about.

Stings:
During the staff awards ceremony, there will a short clip (around 8 seconds) showing the award that the staff members will be receiving along with a short music soundtrack being played. This clip should show the award from different angles and camera shots so that you can see what the awards looks like properly.
There will also be short stings informing the audience about the different category’s that will be displayed. The stings could include the colours on the College’s logo. These colours are; light blue, navy blue, purple, red, orange and yellow. I think that using these colours would make the stings look more professional as they are the main colours for the College’s logo and the staff members and the rest of the audience will be more familiar with these colours.

Staging:
The staging of the staff awards should look interesting and exciting to look at. I think that the colours on the College’s logo should also be used for the staging as they are bright colours and it will go with the design used throughout the event. I think that the actual College logo should be on display, on the stage, where the staff members will receive their awards. The lighting used on the day should be bright and colourful.
