Tate Modern

Tate Modern is a modern art gallery that is located in London. This gallery shows international modern and contemporary art from 1900.

IMAGES:

1.
One of the displays in the gallery is called 'Tiny Deaths 1993' by an artist called Bill Viola. Bill Viola is a contemporary video artist who is one of the most important practitioners in over forty years. Here's the image (shown below).

Tiny Deaths was created in 1993. It is an image of someone standing up which has a dark background but you are hardly able to see the actual features of the person. The light and sound of the image makes us see a small bit of drama that's going on in the image.

2.
Another display in the gallery is called 'Incidents 021from Incidents 2012' by an American Photographer called Henry Wessel, Jr.
Here's the image (shown below).

Henry Wessel captured these images from his car, on the street and in other public places. He created these images in order to let them have a narrative to it.

VIDEOS:

1.
One of the videos in the gallery is called 'Fase: Four Movements to the Music of Steve Reich, 1982' by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
Here's an image of the video (shown below).

This installation shows a dance choreography that informs the audience about music and dance and she tries to show the audience how music and dance comes together rather than the dance illustrating the music.

2.
Another video in the gallery was of an artist called 'Andrea Fraser' who was shown having a conversation with Chris Dercon.
Here's an image of the video (shown below).

Andrea Fraser creates a projection of different effects where she interacts with the image on the opposite wall and she interacts with the viewer
